Spring is about to give way to summer: days are long, giving us plenty of time to find the perfect wave conditions on the west and south facing coasts.

Immerse yourself in an authentic surf scene: whether it’s getting up at dawn or driving down sketchy roads to get to uncrowded spots, surfing comes first.

We're not looking for pro surfers but open minded surfers that want to develop their skills, style and knowledge on a variety of surf crafts and conditions.
The Algarve is mostly known for its golf resorts and spa's, retired expats living their final days in the sun and shitfaced brits abroad. In spite of all that, lost in the countryside of Europe's western-most corner, coagulated a small group of rejects.
Toxic Magic is the centre piece for a crew of friends who work and surf together.
We believe style and culture has to be experienced, not taught.
For that very reason we invite you to this raw and wholesome experience where you get to integrate our crew and lifestyle for a week, and improve your longboarding style and knowledge with expert guides.
We love collaboration and we're proud to team up with Toxic Magic: a misfit crew of shapers, longboarders based in the Algarve. Forget an over-sanitized academic approach and experience authentic longboard culture.
Surfing the best conditions is the priority, but the plan for the week is to unindoctrinate you from the fallacies created on social media.At the same time, we will look into the history of surboard design and relate that to how boards are ridden.
You can, but you do not need to bring your longboard for this week. You will have full access to Toxic Magic's quiver of handshaped longboards: open your abilities to surf a variety of boards, depending on the conditions and your individual style.
A small number of surfers allow us to focus individually on each of you and your progression, both in and out of the water. Stay in comfortable private rooms and integrate for a week in the Toxic Magic crew.
We'll start with a "Déconstruction and unindoctrination discussion", move to the "Anti noseride workshop" and how to "Pick the right tool for the job". We'll finish with a visit to the shaping factory to discover "How a longboard is born" learn "Survival DYI ding repair skills". You'll end this week as a more skilled and knowledgeable surfer.
This surf trip is open for people that already know how to surf and are independent in the line-up. You don't need to be a longboard pro but you do need to be a confident surfer (and respectful in the lineup) in a variety of conditions to make the most out of this week.

The Algarve surf spots were the last to be discovered in Europe and although it doesn’t contain the classic reefs of central Portugal, the potential for good, uncrowded waves is high.
Average wintertime swells on the west coast are around 8-10ft, with 12-15ft maximums, whilst summer rarely goes flat and regularly gets up to overhead.
The south coast offers perfect shelter with offshore winds and a filtered swell although it is often flat in the summer months of July and August. Tides vary from 4-12ft.

Flying to Lisbon is the easiest way to get to the Villa.
From Lisbon (Sete Rios bus station) there are daily direct buses to and from Aljezur (3.5h ride). You can find the times and schedules and book your ticket on the Rede Expressos website.
To catch the bus from Lisbon comfortably, we recommend you land in Lisbon before 14:00 on arrival day and fly out of Lisbon after 16:00 on departure day. We will meet you directly at the villa or at the Aljezur bus station: pick-up is included!b
If you are flying to Faro Airport, you can either reach Aljezur by bus (no direct buses available) or book a private transfer from/to Faro Airport with Yellowfish.

By public transportation:
To get to the surf house you will have to follow the following steps (the whole trip takes around 3 hours):
1 - Uber/ Pickme from Bandaranaike International Airport to Kadawatha Bus Station – around 18€
2 - Bus from Kadawatha Station to Galle Bus Station ( 2h) – around 6€
3 - Taxi from Galle Bus Station to Ahangama – around 18 €
By private transfer:
From the Airport we can organize a transfer directly to the surf house - 65€ per way per car

The centre of the south coast of Sri Lanka surf scene stretches from Hikkaduwa to Welligama with differentwaves for all surf levels.
Kabalana beach, the spot in front of the surf house, is right in the middle of this coast and offers fun beginners' waves with multiple peeling peaks.
During the quiet swell period of December to March, waist to head-high waves are common and you can often find glassy and dreamy conditions.

Welcome to your home for the week: a beautiful and comfortable villa in the lush hills of the Algarve, where you can relax. To ensure maximum comfort, four rooms are private sharing two bathrooms and another one is a double room with ensuite bathroom.
Comfortable inside and outside shared spaces and a large swimming pool ensure that you will have your space, whether you want to socialize or rest.
Everyday you will have a healthy gourmet breakfast served at the villa and four special dinners locally cooked by a variety of chefs.
You will be staying at a short drive from some of Europe’s most scenic beaches such as Arrifana, Monte Clérigo and Amoreira.
